Close out the year with a Bang!
(Don't leave the front line)
So you think the market is dead? So
you think the holidays stop people from buying or selling
their home? Think again...
Not everyone closes up shop for the holidays! There are a select group of people who either want to be in a new home by the New Year, or want to be out of their home. Most are not desperate situations, but a general desire to move. Here is your opportunity to let your customers and clients know of the possible financial benefits of closing before the end of the year. They could also start taking advantage of the new year with a fresh start in a new home. Take a look around your office for the next 3 weeks and see who is in the office; see who is listing properties and who is selling. More than likely, there is little or no activity. You can take advantage of the situation by contacting all of your sphere of influence, past clients, and customers. This IS your excuse! "Happy Holidays, _____________. This is __________, I just wanted to call to wish you the best in the new year! I'm looking for some help to close out this year, so if you happen to hear of anyone looking to buy or sell a home this holiday season, I hope you'll remember me." or "HI, __________, this is ____________. I just wanted to give you a call to wish you the best this holiday season and remind you that if you hear of anyone wanting to buy or sell, I'd appreciate the referral." Of course, if you don't have their correct address and email, this is the time to get it and mail them a personalized holiday card, with several of your business cards inside. You have to make these calls now! Next week will be too late to send a card, and most holiday office parties and gatherings are already done or coming very soon! If you haven't already made all of these calls, stop what you're doing and start. Don't forget to fill out the holiday card immediately after you make the phone call and put it in the mail. Make the calls! Ask for the business! Be sincere and keep it about business! If you start talking about the relatives coming over or the latest holiday sales, you've lost the point of the call! You're calling your sphere to build your business and get a sale before the end of the year; don't lose focus on why you are making the call! |
