Web Marketing and Business Strategies
(move to the top of the webchain)
Earlier in the Personal Business
Mastery we discussed Blogging and how it can improve your
visibility, but the importance of having a website that
gives your buyers, sellers and potential clients information
based on their needs is essential. You can't be everything
to everyone - that first you must understand - and their
might even be customers you may choose not to work with. It
is your business! Selectively build your business.
In the early 1990's what was becoming the "web" was still basically a "bulletin board", where people could post ideas and share information. Sound familiar? A little more than 10 years after the explosion of the personal computer, we're back to the basics of the internet: providing information to someone who is looking for information. But what do you provide? Simply, in order to differentiate you from the other 1.2 million real estate agents (more half of whom are on the internet), you need to cater to your audience. If your goal is to be the "Hometown Agent" or the "Eastside Expert", you need to let people know that is who you are. You also need to give just enough information to not give away the ship. So how do you do that? If you're the "Eastside Expert", then you need to let people who live on the Eastside, and people who want to live on the Eastside what could be of interest to them. Restaurants, schools, local government, community and religious organizations and shopping are only a few links that can be added. Let your visitors know about you! If you haven't been in the business long, don't focus on it; let them know what you can do for them - save them thousands on the purchase or sale of their next home - provide buyer and seller tips mailed directly to them - help with buyer pre-approvals and seller inspection/disclosure forms. List your email and website on all of your advertising! Your email is just as vital of a tool as your phone. Your email is the 'less personal' approach to contact you. Your phone is personal. In an email, a potential buyer or seller can be virtually anonymous until they choose to make themselves known. When that happens, you have already created a bond with your client. Always be professional in your email - it's too easy to use abbreviations and improper grammar/spelling and cutesy email stationary - your business email reflects your professionalism; and always try to avoid the free email you get from Yahoo or Google as your business email! Why? realestateagent293@yahoo.com or Iwanttosell@google.com is never as professional as JAgent@sellstate.com. Just like any other form of advertising, you need to let your potential clients and customers know you are in business, and you need to give them a good reason to call or email you instead of the other agent. Your effective marketing through print advertising and the internet will begin to pay off if you are persistent and consistent with your message. Did you know you can register your website through the leading search engines for free? Did you know you can create traffic to your website without paying for advertising? Next week will explain how! |

DID YOU MISS SOMETHING? PERSONAL BUSINESS MASTERY ARCHIVE CLICK HERE FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions Q - What is VoIP? A - VoIP is short for Voice over Internet Protocol. This process means that instead of your telephone signal coming across standard phone lines it comes through a high-speed Internet connection. When using a VoIP phone, users cannot tell the difference between the VoIP service and standard telephone service. There is no need for a special phone to use VoIP, the change comes in adding a special VoIP service box as part of the setup. |
